If you’re in need of a smiling face, you can always trust our Financial Literacy Coordinator, Laura Hinojosa, to deliver! Her southern charm comes straight from Laredo, Texas, but don’t let that fool you, she knows her way around Las Vegas. After graduating college with a B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and M. Ed in Special Education, she left the Lone Star State for the Clark County School District.

Her days in the district may be over, but Laura never stops teaching or learning. As a coordinator, she has a hand in our Andson Money and Piggy Bank programs. She is also an essential force in making community partnerships, so our programs can continue to thrive. “I was told that I’d be helping Andson "reach the next level.” said Laura. “That is exactly what I plan to accomplish with our team.”

As the youngest of three sisters, she has always worked hard to reach her goals. She is very proud to be the second college graduate in her family. “Education is key,” she said. “Never stop learning, and as you move up the ladder of success never forget what it was like when you started the climb; it will make you a better leader.”

When she’s not climbing the ladder, you can find her hanging out with her two cats (she walks one on a leash!), nose deep in a good book, or cuddled up watching “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
