Kate Marshall is the former State Treasurer of Nevada. She was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. Kate grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in a working class neighborhood. Kate Marshall worked her way through high school, college, and law school. She joined the Peace Corps and served with distinction in the Department of Justice. Kate then became Nevada's Senior Deputy Attorney General under Attorney General, Frankie Sue Del Papa. As Treasurer, she has been credited with improving and implementing programs that have saved millions in taxpayer dollars, reducing spending by making government more efficient, and identifying innovative methods for increasing economic development for Nevada. In addition she has created one of the nation's first statewide college savings program, College Kick Start, at no expense to the taxpayer. Kate's record has always been about helping Nevada families with pocketbook issues.
