Chelsie Campbell combines her dynamic personality, her skills as an Attorney and her extensive public policy experience to strengthen NV Energy’s effectiveness at the local political level. Prior to joining NV Energy, Chelsea worked for Mach One Media Group as Editor-in-Chief of its two publications, Nevada Family Magazine and La Familia de Nevada. Chelsea has extensive political experience having worked for Senate Majority Leader, U.S. Senator Harry Reid, and a variety of presidential, congressional and local campaigns in various capacities. Working in local politics inspired Chelsea to create the state’s first Latino-based youth-lead political organization, which still exists today on several college campuses. In 2007, Chelsea formed part of the inaugural class of Emerge Nevada, a political leadership training program for women in Nevada. Currently, Chelsea is completing her Ph.D. in Public Affairs with an emphasis in Public Policy at UNLV.
Chelsie is currently Co-Chair of United Way of Southern Nevada’s Young Philanthropist Society (YPS). YPS is a membership group of young financial contributors who are committed through resources and time to give back to their community through philanthropic efforts, advocacy and volunteerism. Chelsie is also the chairperson of The Piggy Bank which is YPS’ signature project. YPS worked with the Andson Foundation, Silver State Schools Credit Union and Junior Achievement to develop this innovative program. The Piggy Bank is a fully functioning bank inside Bracken Elementary School. YPS volunteers act as bank tellers and every week assist the students with their deposits. Through its curriculum component, this program has taught over 500 kids at Bracken the importance of savings and since its inception, the students have saved over $40,000.
Chelsie was elected to the Board of the Trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada. She is Chairwoman of the Nevada Advisory Board for CPLC Southwest. She is also a Board Member for the Advisory Commission on law-related education for the State Bar of Nevada and she serves on the Government Affairs Committee for the Latin Chamber of Commerce. Chelsie is a native Nevadan. Her mother is from Cuba and her father was born in La Jolla, California, but has resided in Las Vegas since the early 60s. In her spare time (what spare time!) she enjoys shopping, and spending time with her friends and family.
